Florida Encounter is environmentally conscious and proud to give back to the community!

Here are some of the efforts we have had in place the past years to accomplish this important goal:

• In an effort to reduce the attending meeting planner's carbon footprint of their air or ground travel and to promote clean energy, VISIT FLORIDA will purchase carbon offsets. A carbon offset is a certificate representing the reduction of one metric ton (2,205 lbs) of carbon dioxide emissions, the principal cause of global warming. We purchase these carbon offsets via the "Friends of Florida State Forests". Forests provide tremendous value to the state's well being. They provide a wealth of recreational opportunities, supply wildlife with habitat, help clean the air and water, and serve as an outdoor classroom for people of all ages to explore and learn about.
